Chinese New Year

We have been excitedly celebrating Chinese New Year here in Hong Kong. This is the year of the rabbit, and bunny decor can be found all over the city.

My favorite part of the celebration was watching the dragon dance. It was AMAZING!

You can see the drummers in this photo. The sound is deafening, but it really made you feel totally engrossed in the experience. You can also see the poles where the dragons dance. They are about 5-6 feet tall!

After the dance the kids rushed to meet the dragons.

Look out kiddo!

If you paid the dragon he would pose for a photo with you. With all of the noise & crowds, Naomi was a little overwhelmed but worked up the courage to feed the dragon.

These little orange trees are all over, as decoration. You can see red envelopes tied to the branches. Traditionally you put money into red envelopes and give them away over the holiday.

Back at our place we got out Naomi's dragon to reenact the dance on our own.

Gigi loves the jingling bells!

Happy New Year!
