Our Visit at Nana & Pop-Pop's

It was great to introduce Gigi to Pop-Pop. If she only knew what fun is in store for their future together!

Fat Smitty's is the dive to end all dives. It is the home of the Smitty Burger, a towering monster of deliciousness. It is out of the way and can be tricky to catch it open, but over the years it has been a special treat for our family when travelling up the Olympic Peninsula. As luck would have it we caught lunch on our way to Port Townsend. It was every bit as satisfying and surprisingly even bigger than I remembered!

Auntie Ri Ri & Naomi

We spent the rest of the day leisurely working our way through the darling shops in Port Townsend. (This was a girls' trip after all!)

This is Naomi's turtle face. Jon makes the exact same face!

Gigi was strapped to me in the bjorn most of the time we were out, but here's our little dolly on Sunday after church. She is getting so big! We all agreed that she looked like she had changed substantially just in the time we were in Washington.

My mom, Gigi & I grabbed lunch in Forks while Lesley & Parker surfed in La Push. (Naomi was gorging on popcorn at Shrek 3-D with Pop-Pop.) The town is soooo tiny. I thought it might have changed a bit since Twilight, but it is pretty much the same with a few notable changes:

The treaty line is now more obviously marked (thank goodness, right?)

And apparently Pepsi is the new garlic, warding off the blood suckers!

Lesley & Parker in all their Pacific Northwest surf gear - a far cry from Hawaii!

Aren't they so cute:)

Nana & Gigi in La Push

I love the ocean. It was fun to be able to take some photos of the Washington Coastline.

The girls & I drove in to meet my mom almost every day for lunch near the hospital where she works. The restaurant staff practically had our orders ready when we'd walk in the doors. Now that we are gone I'm sure they are wondering what happened to us!

Christina got the biggest smiles out of Gigi:)

Naomi's love of the canoe began the first time she saw Pocahontas.
Since then her love has only grown:)

Every so often I catch Naomi singing, "Should I marry Kocoum? Is all my dreaming at an end? He's stea-dy, as the beating drum..."
Priceless!
Thanks Walt!

Nana & Pop-Pop's doggie, Jack Jack

One of our last nights in town Lesley convinced us to drive to Seattle for dinner with her at The Claim Jumper. I'm pretty confident I stuffed three dinners' worth of food in my tummy! Yummmmm.

Gigi & Auntie Lou

Thanks Nana & Pop-Pop! We had the best time. Love you!
