Storms in Hong Kong are quite spectacular. I love it! Since living in Tsing Yi we have enjoyed many a night watching the lightning for hours on end. What is more rare is seeing an afternoon thunder & lightning storm. I decided to try my luck catching some bolts with the camera.
The storm was a fascinating progression. You can tell how much rain is falling in the first photo because the island is barely visible in the distance.
By this point the rain had slowed, the sun was beginning to peak out and it seemed the storm was almost over, and thus my photographic opportunities. That is when I saw this amongst the clouds:
a GIGANTIC rainbow!
And then the clouds disappeared and the rainbow doubled. Seriously??!!!
At this point I half expected to see a unicorn slide down the rainbow and land in a leprechaun's pot of gold! Awesome. Like I said, I love storms!
