Ironically, we had to come all the way to China to get days off of work for both Good Friday and Easter...not that I'm complaining! So, for Easter Monday headed (where else?) to see the Big Buddha on Lantau Island here in Hong Kong with our friends Dane, April and the always adorable Jesse.

One of the coolest parts of the trip is that you take a 30 minute tram ride over the sea and up the mountains. It was a beautiful view.
We rode in a gondola with a glass bottom. It was really cool!
I wasn't sure what the girls would think of being up so high, but they both loved it.

Here you can see the airport in the distance. This is where you'll land when you come to visit;)
The view of the Buddha from the gondola

Back on the ground and on our way!

I think these are supposed to be monkeys dressed as bunnies because it's the year of the rabbit. Whatever they are, Naomi was excited to have her picture taken with them!
Getting closer!

We passed a lot of cool statues on our way to the steps

The kiddos were troopers! Naomi even walked up all the stairs by herself!

After the trek up to the Buddha I think we were all looking forward to the relaxing ride back on the tram.
The Buddha was not the only giant thing we saw. This is a typical housing complex in Hong Kong. Even though it is not in the city it is like a city in itself!

Despite the scowl on Ginger's face we all had a really great day!

These are great pictures Lindsay! Are you usually behind the camera or is Jon?
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing experience.
